Story

The work began with designing and making furniture.

This led to the opening of an interior shop, Bishop’s, in Chelsea Village, Wynberg, followed by in-house furniture production and later into the contract industry — with over a decade spent importing and supplying for large-scale hotel groups.This expanded into designing furniture for international companies in Australia and China.

More recently, through Shaped Spaces, the work returned to interiors — and with it, the need for a place to source everything required to complete a space.

aboutliving.store brings this together — furniture and objects chosen not only for their simplicity, function and form, but for the way they shape how a space feels. Pieces that sit easily within a space, creating a sense of balance and ease, often without needing to explain why.

Alongside this, a made-to-order approach remains central — drawing on years of experience in furniture design and production to create pieces where needed.
